Kitchen tap in Norway spews beer, not water

(CBC) - A bar worker in western Norway managed to turn water into beer for a lucky woman living in an apartment above the pub.

Haldis Gundersen turned on her kitchen tap on the weekend expecting water to gush out so that she could wash some dishes. Instead, she got beer.

A worker in a bar two floors below had accidentally connected a hose from a new barrel of beer to the water pipe leading to Gunderson's apartment in Kristiansund.

"We thought we were in heaven," she told Reuters.

The beer tasted strange and didn't have the fizziness that specialized bar spigots would create, she added. Given the choice, she would have opted for her favourite coffee liqueur.

"If it happens again, I'm going to order Baileys," Gunderson said.
The mood wasn't so happy in the bar where the problem originated. Expecting beer from the usual tap, staff were startled to see water pouring out instead.
