Hello Everyone!
So, I turn thirty tomorrow – 3 decades old! I’m o’kay with this – I’ve said my goodbyes to my twenties and ready to start on something new. It’s been a year of changes but here are a few highlights:
- moved departments so now I’m in payroll. Now with Akita for just
- picking up some business courses, stopped schooling at Alberta Bible College
- took a position at my church as a youth leader. Decided against pursuing formal ministry at this time.
- got the apartment to myself again – no more roommate!
- in a stable and serious relationship for the first time
- built a bicycle, rode a bike with road tires, commuted by bike in winter
- got more adventurous in cooking
- learned how to fish
- tried the following food for the first time: peanut butter and jam sandwich, pear, antipasto, oysters, capers, buttercup/acorn squash, crème brûlée
- went snowboarding
It’s been a whirl-wind year but I feel more calm and confident with myself than I did on my last birthday. I’m not sure what my thirties will bring but I see a trend of settling down and establishing roots. One of my goals this year is to complete my payroll compliance practitioner certification. I will continue my spiritual journey and will start exploring other expressions of Christianity and worship variances. I’m also looking toward my future and will start putting money aside for maybe some property or other assets.
So, life is good and I’m quite happy with how things are at this moment. It’s not what I expected when I think back to my ideas of turning 30 when I was a teenager but I’m life doesn’t always turn out the way you plan.
Jerry is taking me out for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate. I still prefer a small celebration rather than a huge party although I still love birthdays.
Have a great day!
