What a week it's been

Hi Everyone!

It's Sunday morning and I'm skipping church today. I've been up since 7am but I'll explain everything in a few moments.

It's been a super-busy weekend and next week's looking very busy as well. On Wednesday, I went to a free bike maintenance course at MEC. I learned (and did) change a tire - well, actually, I removed my tire & tube, learned how to patch and how to get everything back to normal. I also learned how to fix a broken chain. It was very interesting and I felt very proud of myself when I was done.

On Thursday, I had a hair appointment (my roots are gone) and then Corey (friend from Edmonton) and Kelly (her boyfriend) came down for a visit.

Friday morning was the Stampede parade so we walked downtown, watched for about an hour (it's pretty long so I think we watched about 3/4 of it), went to Prince's Island for a picnic and then I went to work while they went to the rodeo. Met up with them after work and we toured the Stampede grounds. It was a lot of fun.

On Saturday, we went to the zoo. Hooray! I've accomplished my travel goals for 2007 and it was very interesting. Relaxed in the afternoon.

They left early this morning and I've been relaxing in my pjs, drinking caramel lattes all morning. I really enjoyed having guests and the furry family were well behaved.

Next week, cousin Amy and her friends will be here for Stampede for a couple days. I start my bicycle communter/maintenance course next Saturday (2 Saturdays), am going to the movies (Transformers) Saturday night and will be cooking sausage for the church pancake breakfast next Sunday.

This afternoon, I'm going with a couple friends to watch La Vie En Rose - a french biography on Edith Piliaf (unsure of spelling).

Lisa has also given me her notice. She's getting married in November and will be moving out at the end of the month. I've put up a couple postings online but so far haven't heard anything. It's still pretty early though. I've asked my landlady's son to call me concerning the lease. It's up at the beginning of September and I'm wanting to find out if they're renewing it (I don't see any reason why they wouldn't) and how much the rent increase will be (the average 2 bedroom rent is a little over 1200/mo and I'm only paying 700).

Anyways, I should probably get dressed and run some errands. It's cool today and overcast. I'll do some laundry anyways.
