I can't believe I'm at my computer...

Hi Everyone!

It's a gorgeous Saturday evening, and yet here I am typing. It's been such a busy few weeks that this was the first chance I had to catch everyone up.

Had a great visit with Amy and her friends. They saw the rodeo on Thursday and I met them on the grounds after work.

On Friday afternoon was a corporate stampede party that a lot of people from work went to. The office closed early and it was a lot of fun. It was rather hot though so I only stayed for about 4 hours and ended up switching from beer to water. Later that night, a friend of mine wanted to go out for drinks so we ended up drinking Belgium beer until rather late.

Saturday morning, tired and a little hung over, I had part one of my bike course. It was really interesting, especially about gearing. Basically, your legs should go at the same amount of revolutions (called a "cadence") no matter what gear you're in. I've notice since that I'm less tired after biking. That night was Transformers - a great movie and I can't wait for the dvd.

Sunday was the pancake breakfast at church. Monday & Tuesday were rest days. Wednesday was watching Harry Potter with a friend. It was interesting enough but I wouldn't have seen it except for the invite.

Thursday night I went out for ice-cream with a friend, followed by Vietnamese, a visit to MEC and we ended up drinking beer all night at the park. Yes, I know it was illegal but it was really nice to sit in the shade by the water, relax and have some great conversation. I stayed out way past my bedtime but I think it was worth it. Yesterday, after work, I had a 3 hour nap and felt much better.

I had the second part of my bike course today and I managed to go up the first steep hill near the golf course for the first time, riding. This was one of my goals for the summer. Basically, there is a winding, long hill that goes through a greenspace beside the golfcourse that leads down to the river. Then, along the side of the golf course is another hill - steeper but shorter. My new goal will be to bike up both hills by the end of the summer, with a quick breather between hills. We did a 4 hour bike ride and stopped at the farmer's market. Now that I know how to get there, I'll be visiting again the future. I've got lots to do around the apartment this weekend - cleaning, laundry, etc.

Tomorrow, I'm helping with coffee at church and I'm planning to visit the Kensington Sun & Salsa (food) Festival. I'm not a big salsa fan but it should be interesting for the people watching.

It's been a long, fun-filled few weeks and I'm looking forward to catching up on my sleep. This week, I'm going out for coffee, watching Hairspray, potentially visiting the outdoors and helping at church again next Sunday. I also have homework to do as class starts in a couple weeks.

No new roommate yet but I have a few leads. I'll let you know how things goes.

Have a great day!
