Hi everyone,
So, if you've been watching the news, you'll know we've had winter for the past week. It started last Friday and stormed over the weekend. This entire week has been cool (in the single negative digits) and there's been a bit a snow each day. It's suppose to warm up on the weekend and most of the snow will be gone by mid next week. This'll be good for bike training.
Had J over last night to try a new recipe. It didn't turn out so well but I made sure there was lots of salad and dessert so he wouldn't be hungry. It was squash with pecans and blue cheese. The recipe called for butternut squash and I used buttercup squash. That might have made the difference - the type of squash needed to be sweeter to contrast with the blue cheese. The other problem might have been that I added too much blue cheese. Oh well, he had been forewarned that it was new recipe and you never know unless you try. I think I will try it again with a few modifications as it looked really nice and it was simple to make.
Have my seeds planted in preparation for the garden. Calgary has a short growing season so most books recommend sprouting the seeds now. It means I have no spare window ledge for about a month but it'll mean yummy veggies later in the season. Tammy Faye is already at the height of the window. Any suggestions? As far as I know tomato plants need full sun. If I move her, she'll only get indirect light.
Have a fabulous day!
